Express Entry Canada’s main system for skilled workers who wish to become permanent residents of Canada. Express Entry is a highly competitive immigration system. It ranks eligible applicants based upon their personal profile and work experience. Factors include age, education, and ability to speak English and/or French.
Express Entry is not available for Quebec residents who are planning to immigrate to that province. Quebec has its own separate immigration program.
Express Entry isn’t the best option because of its competitive nature. Express Entry may be an option for younger candidates with work experience and strong command of English or French.
Express Entry allows you to apply for Canadian permanent residence status. This allows you to work and live anywhere you like in Canada. Express Entry allows you to include your spouse/common law partner, and any dependent children. You’ll all be permanent residents simultaneously.
Canadian officials aim to process 80 percent Express Entry applications within 6 months. However, processing times were significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
